Mental Health
Mental health is a key issue of our time — and it affects us all. Emotional strain can impact anyone: at work, among friends, within the family, or personally. Often, these internal wounds go unnoticed for a long time because they aren’t as visible as physical injuries — but they can be just as painful and severely limit quality of life. What can you do when someone is in despair? Who can help — and how? Find out more about our workshops on mental health and quality of life.
First Aid for Psychological Health – Because Emotional Wounds Are Serious Too
Psychological health is just as important as physical health. While first aid is a given in physical emergencies, there is often uncertainty about how to respond in emotional crises. Many people don’t know how to react when someone breaks down emotionally or shows early signs of a mental illness.
Our first aid courses for mental health provide a practical solution. These workshops are hands-on, scientifically based, and suitable for everyday situations. The goal is to recognise warning signs, approach those affected, and offer targeted help — without overwhelming anyone, but also without standing by helplessly.
The concept originally comes from Australia and was developed in the early 2000s by Betty Kitchener — a teacher, counsellor, and nurse — together with her husband, psychologist Prof. Tony Jorm. Since then, the programme has spread worldwide and is now considered the international standard for mental health first aid. In Switzerland, organisations like ensa offer certified courses, and international providers such as FAA Awards in United Kingdom train instructors.
HEALTHY AND SAFE brings this expertise directly to you.
Lui is accredited by FAA and combines solid training with practical experience. Whether for individuals, schools, or companies, these courses provide real skills for dealing with mental health crises.
